Living A life of daily conversion

Today I want to say something about living your life in daily conversion to become the person God made you to be.

Learning to do God's will and learning to love as Jesus loves us takes a daily conversion, a daily yes to what we know in our heart is right.

There are many ways in which we stumble each day, many ways along our journey that we revisit our selfish ways in thought, word and deed. We may find ourselves talking uncharitably about another, remembering past hurts even when we have made efforts to hold love and forgiveness in our hearts. This is the form of self centered behavior that we must be ever on guard against.

Be instead generous and kind in the way we think of others, having true concern for the well-being of everyone. If we start there we may find it easier to forgive and respond in loving ways. If we truly have compassion for each other, we will experience the healing power of love in our lives and in the lives of all around us.

This may seem to be a subject I have spoken about before but it is worth repeating , for it is good to remind ourselves that we have died with Christ in our baptism and now live in him.

If we are to die to self, cast off our self centered and sinful behavior and live a life of daily conversion to do God’s will which is all good, we must learn to love better in our thoughts words and deeds.

We here in this place of exile need to put our love into practice daily, to grow spiritually to journey to our promised home in Heaven.
