Loving as Jesus loves Us Part 1
It tells us in scripture to love one another , as Jesus has loved us. “This is my commandment: love one another as I have loved you.” John 15:12
Today I want to talk about this type of love.
In order to love as our Lord Jesus has loved us we need to live lives of daily conversion. seeking to do our heavenly Father's will, in all that we do in thought word and deed.
This requires a metanoia, a change in one's perspective, but not only to change our perspective but to act upon that changed perspective in a way that is in accord with God.
This change in perspective is accomplished by dying to self. By a daily change in our thinking and actions that change the way we think of love.
When we stop thinking of love as an emotion and begin to think of love as a state of being and a gift that we give to others and that God gives to us we begin to Love as Jesus has loved us.
This as I said is a daily conversion that is one that takes place over time.
These are my reflections on the subject and a product of my own daily conversion process.
I will add more on this very important subject over time.
