The word of life, Jesus walks among us

Today is the feast day of St John the Apostle and Evangelist.

On this day St John testifies to the word of life made visible, Jesus.

“ What was from the beginning what we have heard, what we have seen with our eyes, what we look upon and touch with our hands concerns the word of life -for the life was made visible ; we have seen it and testify to it and proclaim to you the eternal life that was with the Father and was made visible to us- what we have seen and heard we proclaim now to you, so that you too may have fellowship with us; for the fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ. We are writing this so that our joy may be complete. John 1: 1-4

John says it is his joy to relate this to us, to proclaim the presence of the Word of life, God’s only begotten son Christ Jesus made visible to us. Through his words John attempts to share the fellowship and experience of the friendship he had with our Lord. St John tells us in his letter that God has been made visible to us and has walked among us as one of us in the person of His only begotten Son Jesus.

What great Joy is expressed here in these words, inviting us to share in this joyful fellowship with Jesus and through Jesus with the Father.

Let us think about this invitation to walk with our Lord Jesus , to enter into a relationship with Jesus and God the Father .

Do we in our daily lives accept this invitation? The invitation that gave great joy to St. John, to extend to us, to walk with Jesus and to have an abiding friendship with the Lord who makes visible to us the Father and so that we too may have fellowship with the Father through our Lord Jesus.

Let us deepen our relationship with Jesus this day through daily prayer, through the way we treat each other , I invite each one of you to take this invitation seriously and enter into a deeper friendship with our Lord and through Him with God our Father.

This is my reflection on this feast day of St John The Apostle and Evangelist..

The Lord's peace be with you!

In Christ Jesus, Sr. Avia Maria Lucia Montoya Er. Dio.
